In a post to Office Blogs on September 7, 2016, the Microsoft Access team announced that they are re-introducing dBASE file support in Access for Office 365 customers. The post from the Access team indicated that customers using Access UserVoice had requested the feature, in particular, customers in the Geographic Information System (GIS) community. Support to import or link to data stored in dBASE databases will be for Access 2016 customers using Office 365. The first customers who will see this feature are Office Insider participants. General support of this feature for Office 365 customers will roll out later.
