Microsoft presented Visual Studio integration with Docker.

Fom the Docker web site:

“Docker is an open platform for developers and sysadmins to build, ship, and run distributed applications. Consisting of Docker Engine, a portable, lightweight runtime and packaging tool, and Docker Hub, a cloud service for sharing applications and automating workflows, Docker enables apps to be quickly assembled from components and eliminates the friction between development, QA, and production environments.”

The demonstration showed running Visual Studio code on Linux. Wow!

A free Visual Studio tool called “Visual Studio Code Optimized Editor” was announced

Microsoft announced new SQL Data Warehouse offering

  • Allows for creating a cloud data warehouse in minutes
  • Allows for easy import and scale
  • Connect with Power BI

After the data warehouse is set up, create an API and then call it from your custom applications

Microsoft announced new Data Lake Service

  • Store an infinite amount of data non-relational data
  • Analyze and process the data
  • Expose data through API

Microsoft announced Unified API Endpoint for Office 365 APIs

  • All the APIs in one place, including Office Graph
  • Add custom data to the Office Graph
