SharePoint is known to have a community that is committed to instant communication, a fact that makes sense for a platform and user base that focuses on connecting individuals and content. Many SharePoint enthusiasts will take to Twitter to catch the latest conversation, seek help or increase their awareness about the latest musings within the community.

With the release of Windows 10, Twitter has updated their app for the platform, which includes performance enhancements such as timeline preview and location-based tweets. There is also a Live Tile option that enables you to see tweets from the Start menu. Photo junkies will be pleased to see enhanced functionality for their interests too, such as the ability to now upload four photos into one message. Users will see the four images represented proportionately within the message, but can zoom-in on each by clicking on the photo.

From a productivity perspective, these changes have improvements directly on the SharePoint community, particularly when attending a conference, such as Unity Connect Amsterdam coming up in October. For example, attendees at that, or many of the other upcoming conferences in the community, can use the location-based feature to see what other relevant localized tweets are online. The timeline feature will also display photos in sequence.
