Showing total number of items in an Outlook folder
There's a way to show something different than the number of unread emails in an Outlook folder.

email folders, Outlook, total emails, unread emails
A work colleague pointed out a cool feature in Outlook that I didn't know about, and that I plan on using on a few mail folders. Instead of the default setting to show the number of unread messages, you can instead show the total number of items in a folder.
Here's a list of the folders in my Outlook client:
Outlook Folders default display
By default, the folders show now many unread messages I have.
To change the setting on my VariousProjects
folder, I right-click on the folder name and select Properties
Outlook Folder Properties option
The dialog box gives me the opportunity to change the setting to Show total number of items
Outlook Folder Properties settings
And now I know how many emails I'm hoarding in that folder:
