Congratulations to everyone at Sharegate, and good news for those wondering what SharePoint customers are doing most with their data! Sharegate, creators of the management and migration tool by the same name, announced Thursday that it has doubled its customer base in the calendar year 2014. The product, which migrates data from SharePoint, Office 365 and OneDrive for Business, is now being used by over 10,000 companies.

While this is a phenomenal milestone for the company, it speaks to a market trend that companies are relying on having the right data on-hand when making corporate decisions. In my experience, many organizations struggle with the accuracy and authenticity of content.  I have seen more than a few clients throw-out their existing content when migrating from one version of SharePoint to another. This is typical of organizations that keep data in "silos" and shy away from sharing it across the enterprise.  With Sharegate's announcement, I expect 2015 will see organizations continue to share and migrate the right information from one version to the next.
